Canadian Agricultural Adaptation Program (CAAP)

The federal Canadian Agricultural Adaptation Program (CAAP) supports projects aimed at facilitating the agriculture, agri-food, and agri-based products sector’s ability to seize new opportunities, to respond to new and emerging issues, and to pathfind and pilot solutions to new and ongoing issues in order to help it adapt and remain competitive. 

The Agriculture and Food Council (AFC) is administering $21.9 million of CAAP funds in Alberta on behalf of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.

Le Programme canadien d'adaptation agricole (PCAA) est un programme visé à faciliter la capacité du secteur de l'agriculture, de l'agroalimentaire et des produits agro-industriels à exploiter des débouchés, à faire face aux enjeux nouveaux et émergents, et à trouver et tester des solutions à des enjeux courants et nouveaux, afin de l'aider à s'adapter et à demeurer concurrentiel.

Advancing Canadian Agriculture and Agri-Food (ACAAF) funding is no longer available

This federal program supported projects aimed at finding innovative solutions to emerging challenges, advance research to capture market opportunities, and share information to advance the sector.  The Agriculture and Food Council administered the ACAAF program for Alberta on behalf of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.

From 2004-2009, the Council allocated $23 million of ACAAF funds in over 330 industry-led innovative projects.  The total investment has reached $107 million.

Biofuels Opportunities for Producers Initiative (BOPI) funding is no longer available

From 2006 to 2008, this federal program supported the industry and farmers with feasibility and other studies necessary to create and expand biofuels production capacity involving significant (greater than one-third) ownership by agricultural producers.  The Agriculture and Food Council delivered BOPI IN Alberta on behalf of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.

The Council funded $5 million in 27 biofuel projects.  Read more on our success stories.

 

Innovation in Agribusiness Management Fund (IAMF) funding is no longer available

This program supports projects that are focused on human resource management, risk management tools and assessment, succession and transition initiatives, and/or leadership.
