Industry Councils

The Agriculture and Food Council of Alberta is one of a network of 14 independent, non-governmental Council organizations in provinces and territories across the country which deliver a variety of programs and services with the overall objective of improving the prosperity of agri-businesses across the country. Funding comes from a variety of sources including federal and provincial governments.

 

All Councils work with the agricultural sector to:

  • Pilot new policy approaches and address emerging issues at a national, regional and provincial level.
  • Encourage alliance building and partnerships
  • Maximize resources through partnerships and leveraging
  • Represent the entire agriculture and food sector from primary production through to value-added processing
  • Provide a forum for exchange of member ideas and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Identify and direct federal resources toward short-term and emerging opportunities across the entire value chain.
