Agri-Businesses Given Opportunity to Tackle Human Resource Issues

Nisku, Alberta – Mark your April calendar to attend Resourcing For The Future: The 2009 Human Resource Congress. The Agriculture and Food Council with support from its partners is offering agri-industry and its stakeholders an opportunity to come together and talk about one of the hottest issues in the agri-food industry: labour.

“This Congress is for anybody in agriculture and food that has been impacted by labour

shortages or human resource challenges,” said Larry Malazdrewicz, Chair of the

Agriculture and Food Council Action Team involved in the Congress’s development.

“This is the first time agri-industry will come together in this magnitude. Participants will

be able to brainstorm strategies and solutions with human resource experts and really

focus on using HR as a business tool.”

The 2009 Human Resource Congress will take place on April 7th and 8th at the Deerfoot

Inn and Casino in Calgary, Alberta. It is two full days of keynote speakers, panel

discussions and concurrent sessions covering every element of human resources and how

to make it work for you and your operation. A complete list of speakers and registration

information can be found at www.resourcingforthefuture.ca.

The 2009 Human Resource Congress is one of five human resource sub-projects created

under the Council’s Sustainable Human Resource Initiative Project (SHRIP). SHRIP is

funded under Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's Advancing Canadian Agriculture and

Agri-Food (ACAAF) program.
