Since then, I have been involved with the organization and served on the National Hosting Committee. I was the Chair of the Nominations Committee for Alberta’s OYF for three years.
I joined the Agriculture and Food Council in June 2009 and have enjoyed the past year with Council and their professional staff. I helped Council review its focus and priorities. I served on the CAAP action team review committee and enthusiastically reviewed the proposals put forward. I have seen directly, the benefits of producer groups, processors and distributors working together and leveraging their research dollars to advance their mission. The quality of the applications put forward to CAAP remind me that the future of agriculture is bright. I look forward to the challenge of advancing the new goals of Council. AFC allowed me the opportunity to work with agricultural industry members who want to address issues and challenges and to have a positive impact on the agri-food industry development.
