Dr. Steve Jakeway is an Edmonton-based executive with more than 15 years of industrial experience. He has worked in business development for more than 10 years holding senior management roles in several technology-based companies. Steve has worked the Functional Foods and Natural Health Products sector since 2013 initially working with BioNeutra to expand their market for their VitaFiber™ product line. He is now working with GrainFrac to develop markets for their barley beta-glucan products. He has been a key account manager into many of the world’s largest market leading companies including Intel, PepsiCo, General Electric, Nestle, Intel, General Mills, Phillips, and The Coca Cola Company. Dr. Jakeway has assisted many start-up companies providing assistance for operations, business development, technical, and finance.

Dr. Steve Jakeway received a Ph.D. in Chemistry (2002) from the Imperial College, University of London (UK) where he developed a reusable microfluidic device to identify multiple different DNA strands. His M.Sc. in Chemistry (1999) from the University of Toronto focused on the development of a fiber-optic DNA probe for disease identification. In obtaining his B.Sc. in Chemistry (1996) from the University of Alberta Steve participated in research on implantable electrodes for glucose monitoring as part of the larger program that led to the development of the world-renowned Edmonton Protocol for islet transplant.
